    Abstract ( 2958 )

Objective To clarify the influence on activity of AST, ALT, ALP and SDH for snails in project of afforestation for schistosomiasis control with different modes. Methods  Three spots with different modes, cultivation with interval plantation, cultivation without plantation, no cultivation and plantation were selected in the project of afforestation for schistosomiasis control in Anhui Province, and three spots with grass land or reeds nearby were also selected. Snails in the spots selected were collected to assay the activity of AST, ALT, ALP and SDH. Results  The activity of AST, ALT, and ALP for snails in woodland was obviously higher than that in grass land or reeds land, and SDH for snails was lower in woodland. The activity of AST、ALT、ALP and SDH for snails all was the highest in the mode of cultivation with interval plantation, the next was in the mode of cultivation without plantation, and the lowest was in the mode of no cultivation and plantation. Conclusion  The change of ecological environment caused by project of afforestation for schistosomiasis control had certain influence on enzyme histochemistry of snails, which world disturb energetic metabolism of snails and affect the survival and reproduction on snails. The effect on snail control in the mode of cultivation with interval plantation would be better for its obviously influence on enzymatic activity of snails.

    2013, 11 (3):  131-133.  doi: 10.3969/j.issn.1672-2302.2013.03.003
    Abstract ( 2756 )

objectiveTo understand the distribution of infected Oncomelania snails in Anhui Province in recent years.  Methods The data of snail distribution from 2006 to 2012 were collected, the spatial database of infected snails was set up, and the distribution of infected snails was analyzed.  Results  From 2006 to 2012, the infected snails were mainly distributed in the transmission-controlled endemic regions. Compared with 2006, the number of counties with infected snails, the number of spots with infected snails, the area with infected snails, the mean density of infected snails and the infection rate of snails decreased by 79.3%, 92.7%, 91.4%, 95.2% and 95.5%, respectively. The number of environments with infected snails found repeatedly accounted for 27% in the recent 7 years. Conclusion  In the recent 7 years, the distribution of infected snails in Anhui Province showed a downward trend by effective measures for schistosomiaisis control and some natural factors. But the distribution of infected snail is difficult to forecast, so the risk of infection is still high. Snail survey and control should be strengthened to realize the target of transmission control before 2015.

    Abstract ( 2788 )
Objective  To analyze the clinical characteristics of leptospirosis complicated with liver dysfunction retrospectively.  Methods  From April of 2010 to March of 2013,12 cases of leptospirosis complicated with liver dysfunction which had holonomic information were collected and analyzed.  Results  All cases had liver dysfunction and 66.7% had gastrointestinal manifestations (8/12). The level of ALT and AST all increased in the cases and 4 cases were more than U/ml. 5 cases (41.7%) had higher level of TBil, of which 3 cases were more than 171µmol/ml. Prothrombin time (PT) of 6 cases (50.0%) prolonged, prothrombin activity (PTA) of 3 cases (25.0%) were less than 40%, and serum albumin (Alb) of 7 cases (58.3%) decreased. Hepatomegaly was observed in 3 cases (25.0%), 1 case (8.3%) with splenomegalia and 3 cases (25.0%) with ascites. 8 cases (66.7%) were cured after anti-infection and liver protection therapy. 1 case (8.3%) was died and 3 cases (25.0%) were discharged. Conclusion  Liver dysfunction was generally found in the development process of Leptospirosis. Most of patients took a turn for the better in a short period of time. A minority of patients showed progressive development with liver sero-enzymes increased rapidly, and had serious jaundice and coagulation disorders. It should be distinguished with severe viral hepatitis. In severe cases, it even developed to liver failure and multiple organ function failure. The possibility of leptospirosis should be considered for patients with fever of unknown origin complicated with liver dysfunction.
