Abstract: Objective To evaluate spatial database for schistosomiasis established by using GPS and Google Earth. Method Daguan District in Anqing City was selected as the research object, the GPSMAP76 handset was used to determine the latitude and longitude data of endemic villages, snail environments, positive snail areas and acute infection areas of the district, then the data were transferred into the Google Earth map to establish spatial database for schistosomiasis. Results The transferred data on Google Earth can be displayed by category, and in the meantime, the data can be used for drawing, doing some simple spatial analysis and early warning, measuring the length and calculating the snail-infected areas. Conclusion It is very easy to establish spatial database for schistosomiasis by using GPS and Google Earth, which has the value of practical application.
