Analysis of technique competition on diagnosis of parasitic diseases in 2013 in Anhui province ⅡCapability analysis of helminths detection

Abstract:

Objective  To understand the capability of the detection of helminthes among professionals from different level of parasitic diseases control institutions in Anhui province and promote the training of professionals. Methods  All contestants were grouped by the gender, age, professional title, institution level, and whether from the institute with schistosomiasis control task, and then their total and different part scores of helminthes detection were statistically analyzed by SPSS 18.0 software. Results  The average total score of 72 contestants from 18 teams was 28.31, the lowest score was 0 and less than 1/3 contestants passed the test. The average score of making slides was 8.57 and 93.06% of contestants reached the passing score. The average score of film-reading was 19.74 and only 1/5 of contestants reached the passing score. There was no significant difference of total and different part scores of helminthes detection among genders, ages, professional titles and institute level (P>0.05), and a significant difference between the contestants whether from the institute with schistosomiasis control task. Conclusions  The capability of helminthes detection was not good among professionals from different level of parasitic diseases control institutions in Anhui province, and It was urgent to strenghthen train to improve the detection capability.
