Abstract: Trombidiformes represents a large dispersal group, and many of which possess medical and economic importance. In this study, we reviewed the mitochondrial genomes of Trombidiformes regarding the general structure and gene rearrangement, protein-coding genes, rRNA and tRNA genes, control region and phylogenetic relationship, as well as the research progress in the sequenced complete mitochondrial genomes of Trombidiformes species. The characteristics of complete mitochondrial genomes and phylogenetic relationship of Trombidiformes reported in recent years were also described in this paper.
