International aid and cooperation in public health of China: Progress and outlook

Abstract: International health aid represents an important part in foreign aid and foreign policy of China. With continual improvement in the economic development level and health management capacity over the past seven decades after the founding the of People's Republic of China, China has transformed the benefit of the recipient country to an aid donor. The content and mode of foreign aid have also constantly changed, with the range and extension of aid being further expanded and the ability to participate in global health governance being further enhanced. This article provides an overview on the primary course of China's foreign health service aid, sorts out the major ways and contents and analyzes opportunities and challenges of China's foreign public health aid and cooperation, and puts forward certain suggestions on the cooperation and participation in global public health governance of China.
