Abstract: Objective To analyze the change trend of schistosomiasis in Qingyang County from 2003 to 2012 and provide basis for making out control strategies. Methods The data of the endemic situation of schistosomiasis in Qingyang County from 2003 to 2012 were collected and analyzed. Results The infection rate of residents and cattle was below 1% in 2 consecutive years. No infectious snails were found and no acute schistosomiasis cases occurred for many years. All the villages got to the criteria of endemic control and all the townships got to the criteria of transmission control by the end of 2009. The snail areas and the villages with snails took on the rising trends from 2003 to 2012 year. There were new infected cases and advanced schistosomiasis cases, as well as new infected cattle nearly every year. Conclusions Qingyang county had reached the criteria of transmission control, but there still existed some factors to consolidate the endemic situation. It was suggested that we should strengthen infectious source control and snail control.
