Abstract:

Objective  To analyze the characteristics of imported falciparum malaria cases in Tongling City, and provide the evidence for improving preventing and control of malaria in the future.  Methods Four falciparum malaria cases diagnosed and reported by the laboratory from January to June in 2013 in Tongling City were selected, and the data about the treatment and epidemiological investigation of the cases were analyzed. Results  The four cases were all imported falciparum malaria cases, and the epidemiological investigation, the epidemic disposal and the standard treatment were all conducted on those cases, and they all had been cured. Conclusion The situation of imported falciparum malaria in Tongling is severe. Therefore, the anti-malaria health education should be strengthened to increase the self-protection of labors, and the training of medical staff also should be strengthened to improve the monitoring and management of malaria.
